The 2023-24 school year is Mrs. Williams' sixteenth year of teaching, currently at Royal Oak High School. Having grown up in a very musical family, Kirsten had a passion for music at an early age; and much like her parents, she has committed her career to public service and education, particularly with a passion for creating a positive music learning environment for her students.
As conductor/teacher of vocal music at Royal Oak High School, Kirsten teaches five choral ensembles, music theory, and serves as music director for the theater department’s musical production. In her tenure, Kirsten’s ensembles consistently earn highest ratings at festival, as well as District and State Solo and Ensemble; her students also participate in MSVMA Region, State, and All State Choirs. Kirsten has previously taught in Mesquite ISD and Richardson ISD in the Dallas, TX area, having been heavily involved in the Texas Choral Directors Association, and served as a regional coordinator. In her time in Texas, Kirsten’s choirs earned top Sweepstakes awards at contest, and received Best in Class at competitions. Kirsten holds a BA in Music Education, Summa Cum Laude, from Michigan State University and a Masters Degree in Secondary Education, Summa Cum Laude, at Texas A&M-Commerce.
